A District Councils' Network Regional Event, supported by the East of England LGA, for Chief Executives of District Councils in the region.
The District Councils’ Network (DCN) is a cross-party member led network of 201 district councils providing a single voice for district councils nationally. A number of East of England CEXs represent the region for the DCN and this is one in a series of regional events to be hosted by the organisation, in collaboration with the East of England LGA.
With increasing coverage of the growing social care funding gap and challenges in the NHS, alongside the development of Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs), this event will focus on the district council role in improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.
The event will include district and national speakers who will be asked to share case studies of innovative approaches regarding early intervention, public health, the role of communities and the integration of health, social care and housing. It will give an overview of the key policy agendas at play and will seek to draw on local experiences on how districts can continue to shape the national picture. It will also address how we take forward a new approach to public services that ensures we can continue to drive growth and deliver those services that residents value the most.
The event will provide the opportunity for district council chief executives to network and identify what key agendas district councils need to work together and collaborate with the wider public sector on.
(NB: This event is aimed at East of England District Council CEXs. However, nominated substitutes are encouraged to attend where the CEX is unavailable.)
