Local Government East has been running a series of roundtable over the last few years, and this programme continued into 2025/26. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the LGE roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.
Rates of Temporary Accommodation use have increased over the last few years, and have reached record levels. Not only is this an indication of the level of hardship being triggered by the UK’s housing market, but it is also creating considerable demand pressures on district, borough and unitary authorities. These pressures could potentially have catastrophic financial implications on local authority balance sheets, and in turn, on our residents.
In this roundtable, we want to explore how councils are finding solutions to temporary homelessness challenges in the East of England.
Agenda and speakers to follow shortly.
Who should attend: Local councillors and officers, particularly those in housing roles.
Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.
